2020 Wine Fest: Roaring 20s: Then and Now
The 2020 Wine Fest benefiting the Museum of Coastal Carolina and Ingram Planetarium will be at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 25. In addition to wine tastings, there will be live and silent auctions as well as other exciting events.
Wine Fest also showcases the winning work of the annual Art Contest by Terri Ballengee of Cary, NC, whose art also won in 2018. This year her piece incorporated wine and the Roaring 20s theme with an elegant woman dressed in Roaring 20s attire. The high bid in the Wine Fest’s live auction on April 25 will win this colorful piece.
2020 Wine Fest also includes the 2020 Wine Fest Amateur Wine Competition, conducted in cooperation with the Ocean Isle Beach chapter of the American Wine Society (AWS) and Silver Coast Winery.
Makers of homemade wine will compete for gold, silver and bronze medals in various award categories. Entry fees are $20 each for the first two wines and $15 each for other wines entered. Wines will be judged by an expert panel of AWS wine judges.
Amateur winemakers can gain recognition and get valuable feedback from the judging panel. Winners will be announced at the Wine Fest. The deadline for submitting wines to the competition is March 16, 2020.
