THE PROGRAM
This course allows you the opportunity to gain knowledge in veterinary terminology, anatomy and physiology, animal behavior and communication, grooming techniques, and proper handling of animals. Topics will also include obtaining and collecting specimens, emergency care, medical charts, and office management. Students will have the opportunity to volunteer at local animal hospitals, earn Pet CPR and First Aide Certification, along with certificates in Animals In Disasters: Awareness and Preparedness and Community Planning through FEMA Emergency Management Institute. This course will prepare for entry level employment as a veterinary assistant. Class meets on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
