Yoga and wine are the perfect combination. Both involve the exploration of the senses and the notion of being in the moment; not to mention they can both improve your heart health by lowering cholesterol and blood pressure. You could say it’s the perfect pairing. That’s why Silver Coast Winery and Movement Works are teaming up to host Vino & Vinyasa, an evening of stress relief, relaxation, and some old-fashioned socialization. The event takes place in the beautiful barrel room at Silver Coast Winery in Ocean Isle Beach. Participants will start the evening off with an hour of Vinyasa Flow yoga, led by Yogi Nancy S. Smith, owner and creative director at Movement Works in Calabash.
Vinyasa (pronounced vin-ya-sah), also called flow yoga, uses synchronized postures and breathing techniques for a fluid, movement-intensive style of yoga. It’s at a faster pace so it provides aerobic benefits in addition to the
increased flexibility, better posture, and stress reduction commonly associated with traditional forms of yoga. This class is for all ages and abilities. Modifications of poses will be suggested for those newer to yoga.
From 7 to 8:30, after participants have successfully relaxed the body and mind through the Vinyasa practice, it’s
time to wine and unwind with a glass of Silver Coast Winery’s award winning wines and enjoy small plate eats
while mixing and mingling. Each person will leave with a complimentary Silver Coast wine glass.

The cost of the event is $20, and a portion of the proceeds will go to Community Movement Alliance, Inc., a newly formed non-profit organization that encourages the voices, minds, and futures of South Brunswick County’s
marginalized youth and their families for the purpose of personal transformation through movement-based
education in the disciplines of dance, martial arts or the practice of yoga.
