Run Oak Island Named #1 Marathon in North Carolina!

Oak Island, NC November 5, 2025 — The runners have spoken! And the Run Oak Island Marathon has been named the top marathon in North Carolina.

The top marathon in each state was crowned based on votes from runners across the country along with ratings and reviews on RaceRaves.com.

Common themes across the winning events include outstanding organization and race-day support, energetic community engagement, and memorable courses that showcase the spirit and scenery of their local regions.

While the Run Oak Island Marathon is one of the most scenic races in the country, it’s also a fast and flat course for participants to achieve a PR (personal record). Managed by local race production company; Coastal Race Productions, it has quickly become one of the largest and best running events in the Carolinas.
